Don't Overlook Cutting the Cake
Cutting the cake is a tradition of the wedding reception everyone has come to expect. Almost everyone does it. But because of its popularity, brides and grooms don’t always think through the process.
As a bride or groom, it’s worth thinking through this part of your reception so you can make the most of it. Let your planner explain what this time will look like and even show you how to cut the cake. You will want to be prepared because it’s something the guests expect, give their attention to and enjoy. Plus, it can make for some really memorable photos that capture the fun of the reception.
Talking through the cake cutting beforehand will allow you to soak it up and not feel awkward during the reception about what to do. If you aren’t confident or if you feel uncomfortable, it will show in your pictures.
And the most anticipated part – do you want to carefully place the piece of cake into your new spouse's mouth or smash it all over their face? Well, that’s probably best to decide in the moment. Some spontaneity is good for the soul!
