Guest Books...Make 'em Worth Keeping!
The good ole guest book. If a person who is married is willing to tell you the truth, they will likely tell you that just after their wedding, they shoved their guest book into a drawer or closet, never to look at it again. While people do it in the name of remembering who was part of their special day, very few people actually use it for this at any point after their marriage.
Other guest books leave room for people to write marriage wisdom quips for you to reflect on as you go into this new stage of life. But, come on, who is actually reading all these and making life changes based on them?
These days, people have recognized the lack of utility in the guest book tradition, and have become a bit more creative. People have broken the bonds of using a book and are using anything from log slices, to puzzle pieces, to globes as their guest books. These more aesthetic versions of the guest book allow them to become part of the unique décor of the home instead of being shoved into the closet.
Or, if a couple knows they likely won't display their guest book, they can ask for fun stories or memories from their guests that they can read and laugh about over the course of their honeymoon.
So, if you are a bride or groom-to-be, add your own personal touch to this aspect of your wedding and allow others to get a glimpse into your two merging personalities. Below are some of our favorite ideas for wedding guests ‘books'.
