Man, what a day!

When Lightning 100 reached out to us to be a part of their virtual wedding giveaway, we were immediately IN! We've worked on different projects with them in the past, and it's always been such a great experience. Then we found out the other vendors involved, and it solidified our choice to join in this socially relevant virtual event. Working alongside such an incredible team to make this fantastic day come to life for a deserving couple was fun! The vendors involved were standout, and they brought their A-Game to this occasion: so much respect and love to all those who played a role in making this day happen.

When Kayla + Nathan won and we got to hear their story, we knew right away that this was going to be such a meaningful day. They had been engaged for five years and, for many reasons, had not had a chance to set a date. So winning this contest was something exceptional! Then, to see how grateful they were and how much they enjoyed themselves, gosh, we'd do it all again in a heartbeat. Kayla + Nathan are awesome! As photographers, it was wild to be at a beautiful venue and to have zero guests present.

Watching the live stream crew setup, however, it looked like a significant production. Yet, it was so very intimate and personal feeling the entire day. I think one of our favorite parts was photographing the first dance because they simply held each other and cried, and from our perspective, it was as if we all just melted away while they danced. Kayla + Nathan had such unique romantic energy about them the entire day, and I think it shines through in their photos.

In a lot of ways, the virtual wedding was so intimate and personal; it sort of strips away the distractions that can exist with larger, more celebratory weddings. In the end, it was a day surrounded by love, and we are overjoyed that we were able to play a part in it.

Kayla + Nathan, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding, it was an honor! We wish you so much happiness in your future together!
