Lauren + Chris' St. Kitts Wedding
A few years ago, we shot a wedding in St. Kitts & Nevis in the West Indies. It was for the lovely Malea + Eric, and it was a wonderful time! Now fast forward to last week, and we got the honor of traveling to St Kitts again to capture Lauren + Chris’ wedding. We were recommended to Lauren by her friend Malea, and it was Lauren's mom, Beth, that reached out to us first, and before we knew it, we were sharing family photos and hitting it off.
There's something exceptional about a destination wedding, not only is it usually in a location that is unique, or particularly beautiful in some way, but it presents itself in a way that perhaps other weddings can’t. The people that share the day with you will be fewer, more specific, and definitely more intentional. It also creates an atmosphere that eliminates distractions because you are in there for one very purposeful reason. It heightens the experience, makes things more vivid, and hones in your focus on the wedding.
The first thing that struck me about Lauren was how relaxed she was and how much she just wanted her and Chris’ wedding to be a special time not only for them but for their friends and family making the trip. It was extraordinary to see how much they cared that their guests also had a fantastic experience in St. Kitts. It spoke to their values and to what meant the most to them. From the venue at the Park Hyatt St. Kitts to the Salt Plage for a sunset rehearsal dinner, which was quite literally one of the best views we’ve ever seen. Lauren + Chris were extremely intentional with the many memories everyone would walk away with from their time on the island. One unexpected memory was having Ludacris’ yacht in the background of many of our photos! It was definitely unforgettable but thankfully he moved it just in time so we could have some clean shots for the ceremony 😎
When you’re doing a destination wedding, you're spending a good amount of time not only with the couple but also with their friends and family. And I must say that Lauren + Chris’ people are some of the best we’ve gotten to spend time with. It was like Lauren + Chris had their own hype squad that spent the entire time cheering on their love, it was awesome!
There’s so much to say! In the end, it was an amazing weekend of capturing two amazing people, their handsome, ridiculously photogenic and sweet son Beau, and all the most important people in their life. We hope you enjoy these pics and sneak peek video of what was quite literally, love and magic in the Caribbean that ended with a massive splash!
Congrats Lauren + Chris! Love looks ridiculously good on you two!
